I currently have comfortably more than 50 completed projects, quite a number of which rarely worn. 50+ watches is frankly far too many and something has to give. What you see below are nine that I’ve selected for sale, with probably at least as many again that I could be persuaded to part with. The photographs below link to the original blog posts and the condition as shown in the ‘after’ shots in those articles is in every case, representative of the condition of the watches today.
More information (now including prices and updates on availability) can be found in the ‘For Sale’ tab found at the top right of the page in Desktop mode or towards the bottom of the drop down menu accessed via the three horizontal lines at the top left of the page in Mobile mode.

Hi Martin,
It would be a pleasure and a privilege to own a classic Seiko that has been worked on by you. Now Iâve finished buttering you up with compliments please could you suggest a price for the gorgeous looking A Seiko 7018-7000 automatic fly-back chronograph from 1971 I currently donât own a chronograph so it would be a lovely addition to my small collection. Iâm actually not sure where you are based â is it the USA? Postage estimates to the UK would also be useful if this is the case. Kind regards
Keith
Hi Keith,
I am based in York in the UK so postage not an issue! I have had a few people asking about the 7018. If you email me at amateurwatchfettler@gmail.com, we can discuss price and other details.
All the best
Martin
I got reading through one of the articles and noticed you said that you sold a Seiko Navigator before realizing it fulfilled your list for a perfect watch. Did you decide that the Seiko Navigator was not one of your perfect watches after all then? Or is it (like some of my watches) perfect in idea, but somehow just still not worn that much? 🙂
Regardless of whether in practice it assumes a personal role of perfect watch, it remains the case that it ticks most of the boxes for me if what should constitute a perfect watch. For whatever reason though, I have not found myself wearing it and unworn watches serve no real purpose to my mind. I’d rather someone else was enjoying it. One other factor that makes selling this one easier is that I have another waiting its turn!
